Responsibilities:
(Performs other related duties as required.
) Under general supervision of Sanitary Facilities Manager, responsible for operating and maintaining equipment at the Preble County Sanitary Landfill.
Qualifications:
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.
An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:
Completion of secondary education or equivalent (High School Diploma or GED).
Extensive experience in the operation of medium to heavy construction/excavation equipment and/or the possession of additional specialty licenses or certifications that bring benefit to the Sanitary Landfill such as a valid CDL or Refrigerant Recovery Technician certification/license.
Must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License.
Can direct others in the successful completion of landfill daily tasks.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES :
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.
45% Operates various types of equipment to assist in completing assigned work projects associated with handling and placement of solid waste in accordance with Ohio EPA rules and regulations and construction of various landfill components and related tasks.
20% Directs customers to and assists customers in locating proper disposal area for solid waste; explains procedures and requirements to customers as required.
20% Assists in maintaining all landfill equipment; inspects equipment daily for proper fluids, proper operating condition; performs daily equipment maintenance (eg.
Greasing, cleaning tracks and windows, etc.
) Identifies existing and potential problems; assists in performing minor repairs to equipment.
10% Assists in various tasks as required to maintain compliance with Ohio EPA regulation.
5% Performs other duties as required.
