This individual would complete improvement projects/initiatives to help improve the performance, capacity and capability of CNC and, potentially, conventional equipment. The selected candidate will focus specifically on developing processes, evaluating and addressing root causes of quality, throughput, and scrap issues, and troubleshootingmachining related problems.

Responsibilities:
Provide data/theory-based problem solving to manufacturing operations within the TimkenSteel St. Clair Plant.
Develop and write CNC programs with an emphasis on process improvement.
Evaluate tooling and scrap cost trends and determine root cause of cost increases.
Complete improvement projects to address the root cause of cost increases.
Specify required tooling, workholding, and gauging required for process improvements.
Utilize existing systems and develop new procedures to perform duties and process changes.
May assist with large continuous improvement projects.
Analyze cost structure for machining operations and assist in cost estimation of new projects for make
Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with at least 4 years of experience OR
Master''s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with at least 1 year of experience
3 years machining experience (i.e. turning, milling, drilling, etc)
Past experience in developing CNC machining programs using G&M coding, workholding, tooling optimization
Problem solving experience. Lean manufacturing (or six sigma) experience preferred
Experience with CAD/CAM systems such as Unigraphics and/or AutoCAD
Data analysis using MS Excel (and/or Access)
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint etc.) Engineering / R&D
Organization: Steel Mobile On HighwayEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
